Gas Pressure Test
How do you know if you need a gas pressure test?
If the gas company has placed a red tag on your meter or if you have experienced any type of interruption to your gas service, then you need to comply by having a professional, licensed certified plumber in gas line repairs before you can have your gas service reconnected. A gas leak can occur at your meter or at any of the supply lines going to your gas appliances. Gas leaks are traced from the gas main onward. Gas itself is safe, a gas leak on the other hand, is extremely dangerous and every family member should understand how to detect one, what immediate action to take if one presents itself, and most importantly, what not to do if gas is leaking in or around your home.
If you suspect a gas leak, immediately leave the home with your pets and leave the door ajar to allow fresh air in. If you can get to a couple of windows easily, open them. Do not use a phone inside the home, wait until you are safely away from the area and call 911 if it is an emergency situation – then follow up with a call to your trusted, reliable Bros Plung experts and we will work with the proper authorities to get your home safe for your return as quickly as possible after locating, repairing and conducting a proper gas line pressure test. The gas company will not turn the gas back on without the required repairs and leak testing.
